Homecoming: Caracas marks the beginning of my venture into color photography after more than eleven years of working exclusively in black and white. Between 2001 and 2003, every time I returned to visit my father, I embarked on a photographic journey with the intention of creating an inventory of the places I used to frequent when I lived in Caracas. Now, these locations were devoid of the people I once knew.

I aimed to see if, by starting from the external elements, I could delve deeper into the essence of the city. To me, it seemed as if the city had frozen in time, while the country remained trapped in a perpetual crisis. I remained uncertain about what to do with this body of work until now. Over the years, as I worked on various book dummies, a photography book has emerged, which is set to be published in 2024.
